One week here in Cali, and I'm missing home already.
Ever since I got here, I've been feeling different... not just because of the new environment, I think. I've probably been feeling different because I've started to become idle, which I've actually successfully avoided, what with all the extra-curriculars that I had. For years, I had extra classes and workshops alongside with my academics, and all I did made my college applications shine. I was branded an achiever (or an over-achiever, sometimes), and got myself into all the universities I had applied to and was even offered scholarships, much to the delight of my parents and mentors.
Yes, modesty aside, I was stellar. But now I'm down to zero... back to being prone to boredom, which, for the longest time, I wasn't.
(Ew, angst and self-pity doesn't suit me. :P Let's flip to another channel, why don't we?)
Hmm... when we go on month-long vacations, I guess I don't feel this way because I know I'm still coming back. I've been trying to think that way since I got here, since, technically, I WILL still fly back to the Philippines, but it just seems hard to do it because the care packages and the emails my friends and relatives send me make my departure even more real than it is.
I just remembered: thank you to everyone who made the past years of my life in the Philippines wonderful. :) I came there at the young age of, if I remember correctly, three, speaking Japanese and a bit of English, and not an ounce of Filipino, but you guys helped me cope. Salamat. Salamat ng marami. Salamat ng maraming maraming marami. :) *bows*

Final na: Pepperdine na.
Isn't it amazing that the barkada's split up into different colleges (I'm talking about the school barkada)? Sure, we took our Philippine college exams together, and we took the SATs in batches, but look where we were led: I will be in Pepperdine (S'pore Management Univ sana pero hindi eh), Lee will be in UP, Mike will be in AdMU, Dan will be in DLSU, Ken will be in Stanford... si Kevs, hindi pa ako sigurado pero alam ko hindi siya papasok sa UP, ADMU, DLSU, Pepperdine o Stanford.

June 17 is THE day. June 10 sana, but I wanted to spend Miya's birthday with, well, Miya, who, in turn, leaves for Cali on June 20 (too much commas on this sentence!). Ken's leaving... I don't know when.

As I write this, partner in crime, in the truest sense of the word, will have left the country already, and it will be only seven days before I myself depart. Yes, June 24th is, in my turn, THE day. Saturday next week is the day I leave.
I am quite unsure of how to put my current thoughts into words. I want to say so many things, but I can't because, well, I just simply don't know how. The thought of leaving makes so many different feelings spring out in me; anxiety, relief, happiness, sorrow, and more, that I don't know how to put them all in order.
With my current state of mind, I guess I just have to drop this entry... no use squeezing my brain dry, knowing that it's impossible to get something sensible out of it right now...
